I have been away from London since this receipt of your letter or I w^d have answered it before. The tablet to which you allude (K. 228) is one of the two from which Sir H Rawlinson compiled his paper on Gyges, the <ill del> inscription on each being almost the same, the large cylinder of Asshur-bani-pal contains another and rather longer account of the Gyges episode – and I will endeavour to find time to copy it for you –
