TALBOT5644

Thursday –

My dear Henry

Horatia 1 had an answer from Mlle Amélina 2 this morning – by which we are happy to find that neither illness nor difficulties have caused the delay in her mo uvements – but her preparations have occupied a longer space of time than she calculated upon – When she wrote, she was about to set out for Brunoy 3 to spend a day with her Mother & take final leave of her – This separation from her Mother has cost her a vast deal more trouble than any one could have anticipated – She says that in every conversation on the Subject, she has to go over the same ground & re-argue the matter from the beginning –

Mlle A hopes to set out on the 10th or 11th & is still undecided whether to chuse the Havre or Boulogne route – but will enter into all this & let us know positively what day to expect her in her next letter to me – She thinks she shall be glad to accept Horatia’s offer of a bed in Sackville St 4 – as she wants to pass a few hours with her Brother – & she will scarcely have time for this & the whole journey from Southampton to Lacock in one day – Horatia thinks it will be useless for Wright 5 to wait in Town for the purpose of escorting her, if you should happen to come away first – because her Brother will meet her at the Station & manage everything for her – and Horatia thinks therefore that Wright had better remain to wait upon you & come down with you –

The children 6 had a charming drive with me today –

Your affte

Constance
