TALBOT5830

Sunday –

Thank you my dear Henry for the eyeglass which came quite safe & suits me exactly. –

I am so glad you mean to go to Oxford – I feared you had given it up & I had forgotten it was so soon. – Shall you not ask Sir David 1, as usual, to spend a day at Lacock – afterwards. – Our friends Mr & Mrs Bowerbank 2 are packing up and preparing to leave Lacock altogether on the 28th. He resigns the Curacy in consequence of the recommendation of his Medical attendant – the Doctor whom he consulted in London.

Mr Mathews 3 succeeds him – I am very sorry to lose them. – I liked his preaching. – & in our intercourse about the poor people I found them both very pleasant. – For the present they mean to reside at Box –

Your affte

Constance

I am so glad you were at the Horticultural show yesterday. –
