TALBOT5877

Thursday Feb. 11th 1847.

Thank you my dear Henry for remembering your promise of writing to me; or rather for doing more than what I petition’d petition’d for. To have left me in a state of uncertainty about you today 1 would have been unkind – God bless you dear dear Henry! and may you before the next 11th of February have disengaged your mind from all that distasteful business which now oppresses you. – I wonder what Mr C Jones will say to your proposal –2 I hope he will enter cordially into the scheme.

Horatia 3 did not come today – but writes word she may perhaps come tomorrow if she hears a good report of the State of the roads – In the village today I did not find walking at all difficult – The children were out with me in the garden both yesterday & today. – & we enjoyed the bright pure air extremely – In the sun the ground was rather soft & indeed muddy – but other parts were firm & clean – and the cold not at all severe. We made a few snowballs & tossed them about. Mlle A 4 would not venture out either day. She continues pretty well – & the children 5 quite so –

Your affectionate
Constance.
