TALBOT6065

Tuesday –

Thank you, my dear Henry for your observations on the interesting parts of yesterday’s Times 1 – which I shall now read with more attention & pleasure – I am sorry you had such a very cold journey – You did not appear well before you set off and perhaps you felt it the more on that account –

Think of my surprise at seeing a visitor about an hour after you left – in the shape of Mary Talbot! 2 – I had not the least idea she & Aunt Mary 3 were at Bowood 4 – They went there Thursday – and on Saturday were very near all coming over to Lacock. I wish they had, for your sake. Aunt Mary was poorly yesterday – so she sent me a message to go & see her today which I did – Ld L. 5 is expected today & the Shelburnes. 6 Lady Kerry 7 &c later. Mary 8 & her governess arrived yesterday. Kate & Stephen Nicholl 9 are with Aunt Mary. They are going to Melbury 10 for Xmas – & will meet Uncle William 11 who is now at Abbotsbury. 12 Lady Lansdowne 13 desired me to thank you for writing her word of Caroline’s 14 arrival at Palermo – she has asked me to take our Children 15 to dine with Mary next Tuesday –

Yr affte
Constance.
