Feby 11/48
Sir
I have sent the cash statement for the month commencing Jany 9th & ending Feby 5th –
Also a list of the frames broken by the fall of the shelf – Mr Higgs admits that it was insecure –
Mr Henneman 1 wishes to know whether you approve of sending a “Lawyer’s letter” to some of those who have not paid their account
A. Harrison asked 2½ per cent on large, & 5 per cent on small sums, as commission for bad debts – to collect them –
I send by post a French Journal & the weekly Times there is an article in each upon Photography –
I do not know if the French article is worthy of your notice –
It will be received as truth by many –
Should you not, [sic] have mentioned other substances besides paper in your patent. Cannot a new patent be taken out, for a composition on glass talc &c. as perhaps giving a more perfect image? I thought it well to mention this, as I have heard different opinions from persons, who perhaps know nothing about patents – yet it may be advisable to enquire –
I remain Sir your most obedt Servt
T A. Malone
NB
The Article in the weekly Times b is by Dr Mackenzie 2 I think he might have given a more favourable notion –
