Lacock Abbey

My dear Henry
I don’t see much use in writing to tell you that we have no letter from our travellers, but I do so as you desired it. I dare say they are enjoying themselves extremely & loitering on the road this charming weather, being loth to return to our gloomier skies. Absence of sun is however a merit in your eyes & I hope you liked the cool air of yesterday – I have just been ordering some chairs to be carried into the garden for Mlle A & the girls that they may read under the trees & make the most of this first of summer weather – for one cannot tell how <?> overcast it may prove –
No news from any one since you left – & nothing to say so adieu, my dear Henry
Yr affectionate
Constance
