Jan. 24. 1850

Dear Sir,

I beg to say in reply to your note of the 21st inst: that we shall have great pleasure in receiving your son on Wednesday next; and will take care to have his room ready for him.

I hope we shall be able to make his time pass pleasantly until the arrival of his future companions, and as they generally arrive by threes and fours he will gradually [stick?] with their acquaintance. Will you tell him, that Robert Dillon who is here alone, is very anxious to make hi sm acq self known to him.

I am Dear Sir Yrs truly
