We have two letters from Horatia this morning – One written at Néris les Bains on the 8^th which has been round by Lacock – the other from Paris dated the 12^th – Only 2 days on the road – they are all at Paris together – but the Gaisfords are coming to England immediately – there is only just time to write a commission, if you have any that can be done in a single day – for they are to set out early on Tuesday, intended to sleep at Folkstone [sic] the same night – You will probably delay your return here a day or two, in order to see them, as they will be sure to reach London some time on Wednesday – Horatia does not say where they will be in London, but as M^lle Amélina is writing to her today I will ask her to mention that you will be to be heard of at the Athenæum if still in Town – You might perhaps learn their address quickest through Louisa Gallwey – her’s [sic] is 3 Halkin Street West, Belgrave Sq^e – If you write to Horatia at Paris direct Hotel Westminster, Rue de la Paix – Caroline & L^d Mt E. are for the moment at Maurice’s, but they have taken an apartment for a month or six weeks, according to the period that may be judged expedient for him to persevere in the baths under D^r Trousseau.

Horatia complains bitterly of the length of time since she has heard from any of us –

The clearing up of the weather yesterday did not last – today it rains again as much as ever but without much wind –

I must suggest that while you are absent, you should avoid going so many hours without food, as you did the last few days here – I am sure it was the principal cause of your feeling so poorly – for you were taking a good deal of exercise at the same time –
