My Dear Constance

I approve of your staying a week longer at the cottage, and of your travelling scheme. Mr. Brown’s estimate is moderate, but it should be put down in writing and signed by him.

As far as Warrington I cannot suggest any improvement upon your route, but after that, it is a pity that you should go through the uninteresting country of Crewe &c. The great manufacturing town of Wolverhampton is not at all to your taste – The pleasant country lies westward of this and I think would only add one day to your tour. I should suggest Warrington Chester Wrexham Llangollen (which lies a few miles out of the way) Oswestry Shrewsbury Ludlow

I could easily ascertain all the distances in miles from “Paterson’s Road book” – Shall I look for some small road book and send it to you.

Yours affly

Henry
