Votre mémoire Sur la production des images photographiques instantanées, ¹ m’est parvenu hier, trop tard pour vous en accuser immediatement reception. je m’acquitte aujourdhui de ce devoir. je le présenterai lundi prochain ² à l’académie, suivant votre désir; et j’en ferai moi même la lecture devant elle; après quoi je reverrai éxactement les épreuves du n^o du compte rendu, où il sera inséré.

Your paper on the production of instantaneous photographic images, reached me yesterday, too late for me to acknowledge receipt of it to you immediately. I am taking care of this task today. I will present it next Monday to the Academy, in accordance with your wish; and I will read it personally before them; after which I will read most closely the proofs of the issue of the compte rendu, in which it will be included.

Please believe the pleasure that I will always take in being of service to you, in all matters.
