11 North parade
Sunday May 23d
My dear Henry
Thank you for speaking at the Methuen Arms about a fly. – We all felt the same lassitude, yesterday, as you did – and attributed it to the Lecture on Electro Biology – I have written to Mrs Moore today as you wished – We have had a charming walk, since Church, on the Prior Park side, and returned over the Bridge at the corner of North Parade. – At the toll house on the said Bridge lives a woman who breeds & sells Canary birds – your daughters have the greatest wish to possess a pair – and we recollected your once proposing yourself to give them some – Will you now like to do so? – And of course there must be a cage &c complete. – It would be a charming present.
your affectionate
Constance
Will you please to enquire of Ellen the Still-room maid, whether they have opened a window in the Brewhouse, as we desired, for the Cat to go in & out to her kittens – and whether they are all doing well.
