Dear Talbot

As your movements are uncertain I will not delay till I receive it, thanking you for your valuable contribution to intended for the library at Bowood, where I shall feel greatly indebted to your kindness for being enabled to place it.

I have however some little hope that you may have been induced to come up for Lord Rosse’s last soirée, where I am going to night – & the only place if you were in London I should feel pretty sure of meeting you –

believe me yours sincerely

Lansdowne
