I am very much obliged by your thinking of me apropos of the coil apparatus ¹ – I have tried the function of coils with one of Gassiots ² & also with a small one of my own but the effects are not increased or only to a very slight degree – Gassiot has a large one made double the size of mine but the effects are not greater; it seems the insulation only suffices for a certain power & that for an increased power a new system of circulation is requisite.
