My dear Constance
Tomorrow I hope to go down to Plymouth to see Caroline – I was delighted by the account of your gaieties and agreeable Society in your last letter, and I hope they continue. The weather on the whole has been very fine since I came here, at first very mild like spring, then sharp frost for 2 or 3 days, which penetrated into the inside of the Abbey and made it very wintry, now again very mild weather. George went to Norfolk St the evening I was in Town, found the place shut up, and learned that it would not open next morning till after our hour of departure. The case of drawers which I bought of Messrs Anderson & Patterson arrived today in a perfect state of preservation and for the present stands in the Hall – Please to pay them for it, deducting three shillings by agreement which I had to pay for its carriage from Bristol to Chippenham –
I hear that Lackham is to be sold – Capt Rooke left 5 sons and 3 daughters, & his property will be equally divided among them.
Adieu
Your affte
Henry
I have sent you all the newspapers Parlt meets today & the debates will be more interesting than usual –
