My Dear Constance
I highly approve of your giving a little dance in requital of the hospitalities which you have received. I will not come till afterwards – I find plenty to do here, and have generally had very cheerful weather –
The Newspapers have been full of tragic histories – did you read the account of Mr Sadleir’s death? equal to anything imagined by our writers of fiction, and tending to make the stories they invent, appear less improbable – I was much interested by the debate in the house of Lords about the Wensleydale peerage.
I see that an armistice has been concluded, which looks like peace approaching –
Adieu
Your affte
Henry
