Lacock Tuesday
My Dear Constance
I shall certainly think very much of you all tomorrow evening and I hope the party will go off well The house is extremely well suited to the purpose and I should think few houses in Edinburgh can boast of three drawingrooms –
Charles has sent me a printed bill of the school He is nearly at the top of the Shell now, I hope at Easter he will get into the fifth form – They have many privileges –
It was Wilkins’s own idea to return the Camellia – Nothing has been said to Mr Barton on the subject – I think this one had better be planted out against a wall, and 2 or 3 little ones of different colours be bought for the greenhouse –
In your garden the large bed has a beautiful double ring of Crocusses <sic> the outer yellow, the inner blue. The small bed has a single ring of yellow ones. The Apricots are in fine flower. A purple mezereon and a white one are in the girls gardens.
Your letter posted on Sunday arrived here on Tuesday in the usual Course. I don’t think it worth while to speak to the riding master about the single lesson which is due from him –
Please to direct to the Athenæum –
Adieu
Your affte
Henry
