Royal Institution 1
Albemarle St
Friday May 16 1856
Sir
I am delivering a course of lectures here on Photography & I venture to trouble you with a request for any good early specimens of Talbotypes 2 which may be at hand & which you could lend me for exhibition as the best early specimens of the art. A good negative also would be of great interest. My Lecture on the Talbotype is on Tuesday next & I fear I have given you too short a notice for that day. Should it however be convenient to you I should be obliged by anything you could forward to London before 2 oclock on Tuesday next. And in any case I should be obliged by any good things sent me even if delayed so as to be shewn on Tuesday week.
I am happy to tell you that I learn from Mr Faraday 3 and others that I have succeeded in interesting the Royal Institution audiences. I have only in conclusion to ask you to pardon this hurried note
& remain faithfully Your obliged servant
T.A. Malone.
