Royal Asiatic Society,
5, New Burlington Street,
London
13 March 1857.
Dear Sir,
I have not had a moment to reply to your note 1 till now. Our next meeting is on the 21st instant, when I shall have much pleasure in presenting your sealed packet to the meeting of Council. I will then lock it up in our strong box, of which I keep the key. I shall be much pleased to compare the versions, when Rawlinson’s 2 is published, and I have not the smallest doubt of their agreement in all essential particulars.
I am Dear Sir Yours vy faithfully
Edwin Norris
H. Fox Talbot EsqP. S. I hope the Colonel’s 3 parliamen<tary> avocations may not interfere with <the?> publication.
