Lacock 17 Apr/57

D^r Sir

I send you by todays post my spare copy of Grotefends memoir on your Baby^ln cylinder. I have not sent any more translat^ns to the J^l of S^d Lit^re but I have deposited a long one with the R^l Asiatic Soc^y in a sealed packet. It is to be compared w^th Rawlinson's translⁿ when published; neither party having seen the other's translⁿ the comparison will be curious.

It is the insⁿ of Tiglath Pileser I now in the Brit. Mus^m Date circa 1120 B.C. Trojani tempore belli.

Yours truly
H.F.T.
