TALBOT7617

Athole Crescent

Sunday April 25.

My dear Henry

About a week ago, Wilkins had occasion to write to me, and he mentioned that Mitchel had asked to have his wages raised one shilling per week – or else to leave – and that you had considered that he had perhaps better leave on account of his being likely to be dissatisfied again about something or another. – I agree in this opinion – only I think it might be as well to keep him until Wilkins can meet with a man who has thorough knowledge of his place – because Mitchel is our best man hand since Moses left – and Andrew Lewis will not stay if Lackham house should be let or sold. Wilkins seems very sorry to lose Mitchel; and says that he has promised him never to ask for more, if you are kind enough to give him the extra shilling – At any rate I should advise his having the extra shilling for the present, till Wilkins can meet with a man to fill him place. –

I heard from Harriot Mundy today – She says that they are going to London this week – to 47 Brook Street a house belonging to the late Lord Moreton – She requests me to inform you of this address – She says the weather has been quite hot at Markeaton. –

Your affectionate

Constance
