Lacock Thursday
Dear Ld Broughton
I am not alone at the Abbey – my son 1 is staying with me, he is in the sixth form at Harrow, and now at home for the holidays – He leaves me early on Monday morning for Edinburgh, hoping to accomplish the journey in one day, which is doubtful. I cannot therefore accept your very kind invitation for Sunday – I take this opportunity of mentioning that I have recently been attempting to make some photoglyphic engravings upon a large scale, one of which I send today and request your acceptance of it as it may interest you and some of your friends – It is of course, from Nature. I have not yet succeeded to my mind in the attempt, owing chiefly to the difficulty of managing large engravings to anybody but an Artist by profession, but evidently a step has been made in the right direction –
In a few days I shall follow my family to Edinburgh and remain
Dr Ld Broughton
Yours most Truly
H. F. Talbot
