My dear Talbot

We have a Museum at Derby ¹ which has lately been united with the Philosophical Society ² of the same place, & the two are about to be established in a new & improved locale. The Committee of the united Societys [sic] intend to have a Soirée to celebrate the opening of the new abode, [and?]³ are anxious to get together a few celebrities to give ela éclat to the event. I wonder if you could be induced to come & read a Paper detailing your latest discoveries in Photography. I can only say your presence would be highly appreciated both by myself & the committee. The time talked of, is the 2^d week in Jan^ry.
