TALBOT7801

Randolph Crescent

Tuesday Feby 8th

My dear Henry

I am not going to write you a real letter – so soon after Matilda’s, which will have told you all the news. but merely a line to say that I had a message from Mr Sandford this morning. “his compliments, and when would it be convenient for him to send the receipt for the first half of the rent?” – A Civil way of intimating that it was due & would be acceptable – I answered with my compliments that “you had not empowered me to act in the matter, but that I would write to you for instruction” – I have referred to the memorandum of agreemt and find that the At £100 was to be paid early in February – We have met Mr & Mrs Sandford several times lately at Concerts and at one evening party – and their manner has been particularly friendly & gentlemanly – I forget when I wrote last to tell you that Dr Moir is most anxious to possess 2 or 3 of your Photoglyphs if you could spare him a few. He takes a great interest in all these things, and has the most friendly feelings towards you & all your family – Could you send some by post? –

And will you soon have the kindness to acquaint me with our financial arrangements. – for I never trust the Bank for apprising me when the remittances are received – The £100 which you sent me immediately after your return to Lacock, was not reported to me. They affirm that the receipt was sent in to you before you left, Perhaps it might be some letter which I forwarded to you – from hence. I think dear Rosamond was <ill.del.> relieved by the blister which she applied last week – but she was a good deal lowered by it at the time. This morning she was able to go & hear Piatti & Sainton practice trios with Lady Murray –

Yr Affectionate

Constance.
