My dear Talbot

A part of the old Talbot property in Worcestershire belongs to my mother’s brother Mr Douglas Greeley of High Park near Salwarpe,1 who is now in litigation to rejoin to a right of road, a strong evidence in his favor consists of a map purporting to be a copy of an original made in 1716 & wh is supposed to be in your possession – My uncle therefore has written to beg you to grant him the favor, if you can conveniently do so, of having a search made for this map, & he wd employ yr solicitor to do this if you are disposed to allow it –

I have answered that I believe you to be absent fm Lacock during the winter but that I wd write to you on the subject & prepare you for the application wh you may receive fm him –

I am very sorry that I sd have omitted to write & acquaint you with my marriage.2 The fact was I was uncertain of where you might be & was always writing to Caroline3 for your address & so in the end and the fuss of the wedding &c I forgot it altogether, I shall hope some day to present my wife to you, Horace4 takes to her very much & I think it will be a great advantage to him to have a lady in the house – My house is finished5 as far as Masons & Carpenters are concerned but we have only got enough rooms furnished to get thro’ the winter with comfort – I must send this to Lacock tho’ I expect to hear you are in Edinbro’. I hope that in the coming of the Spring we may meet in London. With my best regards to all the Family

Yours affly
Gaisford
