My dear Henry
You bid fair to be in the Pyrenees before we are – I positively object to moving any where in such weather. we shall be too late for lilio hyacinthus or any thing worth having. The Pyrenees are badly situated – the only way to see them comfortably or profitably is to take them coming home from Italy, when you can chuse your time & take them as early as you please.
I expected a change of weather yesterday but today is as bad as ever tho’ Sophy 1 is gone to Court.
Our Mesembs come up as fine as ever – but six weeks later than last year. Beschorneria too is flowering – but I expect half the garden will be rotted. I have not had a day fit for Kew or any garden. Pray give me the address of your Courier but they will hardly come for a month or six weeks only. I hope you are all well.
