We are here till Saturday – are you likely to be in town? we shall be at Melbury ² the middle of next week after a visit or two.

I do not know if you went to Carclew ³ or not – but you probably found rain wherever you went. Is it not a rivalry between Devonshire & Westmoreland which is the rainiest climate?

We are likely to be all November at Abbotsbury ⁴ – are you likely to be at liberty to pay us a visit there?

I hope Matilda ⁵ has recovered her health – & does not give you further anxiety.

Are all the family now at Lacock? or you alone? Where can one see your own account of the Eclipse? ⁶
