Oakfield Monday –
My dear Henry
One line to express all our thanks to you for giving us the House in Moray Place. I am persuaded we shall enjoy ourselves at Edinburgh – and that it will be good for all. – I will take care of the counterpart of agreement when Patterson sends it –
I am very glad also that the George Wilkins scheme of travelling with Goodwin, gives such entire satisfaction, and that it is a comfort to his Father’s mind – And that you approve of all I have done throughout the affair.
Thanks for the fresh remittance – I received the former £100 quite correctly – and Mr. Crosthwaite will let me know as soon as he has received the £300 –
We shall expect Goodwin & Co. as fixed on Wednesday morning – I hope they will guard themselves well against the cold of the night journey. Will you enquire whether G. Wilkins has proper clothing. Perhaps some of the Stockings & comforter that Goodwin knows of might be acceptable.
Your affectionate
Constance –
Fine weather still – but the East wind is up.
