Friday June 7^th

My dear Henry

When are you coming to see us? I was going at 5 o'clock to the House of Lords, as a debate is anticipated on the Budget. If it is not long we shall be home early. Could you not come in the evening, & see Lord M^t. E. even if I am not returned - tho' I think I shall be. About 1/2 past 9 or ten.

By-the-bye I had nearly forgotten to tell you that D^r. Bence Jones said there was a most interesting lecture this evening at the R^l Institution, on the new discoveries in light &c. ¹ I forget the name of the Lecturer (not Faraday) but he said it would be the lecture of the year. D^r. Jones is, I think, lecturing this year. So you had better go there tonight & come & lunch here at two o'clock tomorrow.

Will you? or come tomorrow ev^g.

Y^r aff^te
Caroline
