Dear Sir,

I have remitted £60• to the Melksham Bank and £75• to Mess^rs Mortlock & C^o for your Son – at Cambridge.

I understand that M^r Boodé applied on behalf of a friend, M^r Torrens a rich married Man without family – and I was asked by another friend who knows him whether I thought he might be allowed at some convenient time to see the Abbey – If you wished it I would accompany him some day when it would be convenient to you. but after your last note I rather discouraged the idea.
