TALBOT8412

Haymarket
June 3 1861

Sir

Mr Du Pasquier 1 has been fully informed of all that has taken place between you & myself and I cannot suppose he would act contrary to the spirit of those “Conditions”

I do not know wherein the departure consists contained in the second clause of your letter 2 that “ Mr Pretch 3 should confine himself to that modification which he considers peculiarly his own viz the Electrotype process” – I believe that the whole thing is so much in its infancy that for practical purposes very necessary changes will have to be made I now trust you are coming to London because an hour personally will do more than years of correspondance therefore I shall wait an intimation of your arrival

I remain Sir Your obedt Servt
J Hogarth

The Honble Fox Talbot
&c

PS upon reconsidering the subject the best way of bringing this affair to a close will be for you to meet Mr Pretch and myself at Mr Du Pasquier’s with your solicitor 4

J. H.
