TALBOT8543

London
April 19

My dear Constance

I wrote to you on Thursd. Evg which I hope you received.

I suppose Banks sent you proofs of the 3 engravings soon after I left. I wish them to be framed as soon as possible and sent in a box by passenger train addressed to the Athenæum else I am afraid they will be too late. I have been over the Building today, it is a perfect chaos of packing cases which innumerable workmen are opening – The Photographic Room is well lighted but not large enough. The people are busily engaged in hanging all the photography and told me to make haste as they could not reserve the space for me many days. One of the best Contributions in the department is from Ross & Thomson –
