Jos^h Croker ² as usual is behind with his rent but he promises to pay in a fortnight. I shall be happy to make any payment you wish in advance and I will also send M^r Gilchrist-Clarke’s ³ half yearly payment which will become due tomorrow. Shall I remit to you at Coutts ⁴ or Edinburgh? When you come to the Abbey I will take the opportunity of speaking further about a site for the proposed Parsonage at Bowden Hill –
