My dear M^r Talbot,

I ought to have acknowledged your letter of the 8^th before this, but I wished to consult my mother on the matter first; and now have determined to go to see Laycock on Tuesday – I shall sleep at Bath on Monday night – After I have been to Laycock I shall be able to give you my final answer, but whichever way I may decide I shall always be greatly obliged to you for your kindness in offering it to me.
