Dear Sir,
I enclose a Sketch of the Glebe Land, and of that proposed to be given in exchange – If you approve it perhaps you will send it on to Mr Nicholl 1 for his approval.
Shall you require the £2000· for the purchase of your House at Edinburgh immediately? I have £1000 lying at my Bankers and will provide the remainder within a few days if you wish it, but the state of the money market market just now is unfavorable for selling Stock – Perhaps the Owner of the House wod not object to receive £1000· now and the remaining £1000 in three months, but I do not wish to create any difficulties, or unpleasantness – I only mention the circumstances of the Case and shall be ready to do as will be most agreeable to you.
I remain your obliged
West Awdry.
