My dear Sir,

I received this morning your new translation of the Bellino cylinder, for which I am obliged to you.

I have not yet needed a proof of the portion of my grammar which is to be published; but the printer has it in hands. I am sure that you as well as Oppert & Rawlinson will condemn it altogether; we all differ most widely; & the difference seems to be increasing since we tried the Tiglath Pileser cylinder.
