Dear Sir.
I was on the point of riding over to Lacock to call on you this morning when I was unexpectedly detained till I found it too late. I have appointed the 29th inst for your Audit but hope to have the pleasure of seeing you ‘ere that, as I have several matters to mention to you – I was glad to see your Son 1 looking so much better last week – and am glad to find there is a probability of his taking his place on our Bench – in due time – I think he will make a very good Magistrate
If you see the local Papers you will observe there is a very strong feeling on the part of South Wilts against losing their County Gaol at Fisherton2 and with it their Assize at Salisbury, but I think both are inevitable –
I remain Yours truly & Obliged
