THIRTY-EIGHTH MEETING.
Norwich,
My dear Father
I leave Norwich today and go to Cambridge, where I shall stop a night and then go to London. I shall arrive at Lacock either on Friday or on Saturday, but as I do not yet know which, I cannot give any directions for John Wilkins 1 to fetch me. I shall therefore find my own way over to Lacock and may perhaps send him in to fetch my luggage from the station. I made a mistake about the Magneto electro machine. 2 I read the announcements as engine, and as it was machine it made all the difference
Your affect son
Charles
