D^r Sir

I regret that I shall not be able to avail myself of the obliging invitation of the President and Council to a soirée on the 2^d April as I leave Edinburgh next Thursday - My early departure will also prevent me from paying more than one or two visits to the Picture exhibition the Card of admission to which I received and beg to thank you for -

I am Sir Yours very truly
H.F. Talbot
