My dear M^r Talbot,

I must have the house clear to myself from Monday Sep^t: 26^th for the remainder of the month, on October 1^st I shall sign my resignation so that if M^r Roach is to be the new Vicar he cannot of course take possession of the house till October 1^st – It is the churchwardens business to provide for the services being duly performed until the new Vicar has been inducted; M^r Roach will have no right to minister in the church until he has been inducted, save at the request of the churchwardens. I shall write to Messrs Fry & <illeg>, churchwardens, to inform them of my resignation & of it being their duty to provide for the due conduct of the services.
