Dear Abbott

I read your letter informing us of Roberts safe arrival out & was very glad to find all was well[.] I hope all will continue so & that when he comes home he will be every way pleased with his voyage1.

I should have written you before but have not yet been able to get a spare evening to appoint for our meeting. However I hope that Monday week will be free for me & will try to keep it so but I will write you again before then[.]
