Brighton Tuesday 31 [sic]

Sir,

I have not received any printed paper relative to the New Society2 of a later date than the 13th3; but your letter which I received this morning is of so satisfactory a nature, that I do not hesitate to request you to let my name be set down in the list of the original Members4. My entrance money is at the service of the Society, whenever I receive your instructions for its payment; & I shall in the mean time be much obliged to you for one of the last printed papers (of the 15th) which you mention.
