I beg to send you some blank tickets2 – fill up the names & date[.] If you have occasion for more admissions put the extra names on a list & they shall be passed at the door[.]

I will look after what you tell me about Sir Robt Seppings3[.]

I have just received your account4 & think it excellent. I shall send it off immediately[.]

Knowles delivered the first of two Friday Evening Discourses entitled ‘The Rise, Progress, and Present State of Naval Architecture in Great Britain’, on 2 May 1828; the second was delivered a fortnight later. This letter probably refers to the account of his first Discourse published in Lit.Gaz.,10 May 1828, p.298. See Knowles to Faraday, 19 May 1828, letter 355, volume 1.
