My dear Sir,

I snatch a moment to write an introduction for M. Casaseca1 of Madrid who intends visiting Manchester2 & is desirous to making your acquaintance. You will have seen his name in the Paris & other Journals and I recommend him to your courtesy[.]

I hope you are in good health & excellent spirits[.] I long to see you myself at Manchester but do not know when the time will arrive[.] I hope to have received a copy of my paper3 which I left at your Bookseller’s for you[.]
