Faraday to Isaac Lyon Goldsmid1   3 October 1831

Royal Institution | Octr. 3, 1831.

My dear Sir

I am exceedingly anxious to interest your kind feelings in favour of the poor boy whose card is inclosed. He is most unfortunately fitted as an object for the Charity2 and I hope I am not too late in applying to you for assistance for I am sure your kind heart will do what it can for this case.

You may think that I would not say this much unless I felt the case strongly & I need hardly say that I shall esteem all you can do for the boy as a personal favour to me[.]

I am | My dear Sir | Your Obliged Servant | M. Faraday

Isaac Lyon Goldsmid Esq | &c &c &c
