Royal Institution | 13 Septr 1834
Sir
I am indebted to your Lecture Committee for the good opinion of me which their desire expressed in your note implies; but regret that I am unable to comply with the tenor of the request[.]
My duties and relations at the Royal Institution are of such a nature as to prevent me from having time to appear elsewhere if it were otherwise expedient and the consequence is that I have already had occasion twice this month to decline invitations such as that I am favoured with by you although they were put forward by Societies which I am in a certain degree bound to assist if possible[.]
I am | Sir | Your Very Obedient Servant | M. Faraday
C.R. Edmonds Esq | &c &c &c
