Marc Isambard Brunel to Faraday   9 November 1835

My dear Sir

A German Doctor who has been Librarian at the University of Gottingen, and who can produce good recommendations, I understand, intends to offer himself for the same office in your Institution, where we understand that the appointment is vacant1: Could you, my dear Sir, drop me a line here and let me know whether the appointment is still open and whether there is any way by which this Gentleman could be brought to the notice of the Institution.

Your early reply will oblige, my Dear Sir,

Yours very truly | M.I. Brunel
