Faraday to Mary Fox   23 November 1835

R Institution | 23 Nov 1835

My Lady

Permit a very humble person to intrude for a moment on Your Ladyships attention that he may return his heartfelt thanks for all the kindness you have shewn him[.] I scarcely know what terms to use by which I may express the sincerity of these thanks but I will trust to the same kind heart which was ready to think well of one who was not known to you in person or in act for a favourable interpretation of my feelings at the present moment.

Deep and anxious thoughts have delayed my acknowledgement of Your Ladyships kindness which however in no state of mind can I ever forget and which I trust I shall ever strive to deserve.

I have the honor to be | My Lady | Your Ladyships | grateful & Humble servant | M. Faraday

The | Lady Mary Fox
