My Dear Sir
I have just seen our friend, Mr McGrath, & he tells me, you have done me the honor, to purchase my portrait2. I exceedingly regret, you have allowed, any [word illegible] so far to run away with you; and I should have been most happy, to have presented one, myself to you, had I known your wishes: without the expression of them, such an act would have put to the blush, that storehouse of modest faces Westminster Hall3[.]
I am | Yours faithfully | Henry Storkes
Serjents Inn | Jany. 31, 1839
