Faraday to Charles Babbage   16 March 1839

R Institution | 16 March 1839

My dear Babbage

I intend to see you tonight but I have a visitor a friend staying with me a short time & hardly know how to leave him1[.] He is not a man of science through a scholar & a gentlemen (from Edinburgh)[.] If I should bring him with me shall I do wrong? I should say he is very anxious to see your machine though I cannot say his knowledge is of that kind which can properly appreciate it[.]

Ever Dear Sir | Yours faithfully | M. Faraday
